bio:
Juan José Roque-Giraud holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. They are currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin, where they are a member of the Center for Latin American Visual Studies (CLAVIS). Their research focuses on contemporary art from the insular Caribbean and its diaspora, with a special interest in the material, the ephemeral, and conceptual practices. They collaborate as a freelance editor for the Whitney Museum of American Art and previously worked at the Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte of the University of Puerto Rico.
